It was pleased that our students got the opportunity to visit the Medical School of the University of Hong Kong on 28 December 2021. Dr. Nikki Pui-Yue LEE, the assistant professor introduced some of her research projects to our students. Our students also got a chance to perform experiments in the university laboratory. Students were interested to learn new and advanced knowledge through this visit.
HKU students from Integrative Biology & Evolutionary Ecology Research Team were invited to present their research project. They shared their experiences on how to do a research project and introduced their ongoing project with our students. Our students had the opportunity to help with the sample preparation process of the project. They were proud to participate and contribute to the university project.
A job guessing event was held on 18th November, 2021. It aims to enrich students’ knowledge about different careers. During the morning assembly session, some riddles related to jobs were introduced and students needed to figure out the correct jobs. The game was interesting. Students’ responses were generally positive.
Our talented students got a wonderful chance to perform at Ocean Park this Christmas and New Year. Members of the Art club and Orchestra collaborated very well in the show. While the Orchestra members were playing Christmas songs with different musical instruments, the members of the Art Club were creating an amazing Christmas paper artwork. All students enjoyed the performance very much.
In order to enrich students’ knowledge about different careers, another job guessing event was held on 22nd December, 2021. Some interesting job guessing riddles were introduced to students during the morning assembly period. Students had to figure out the correct occupations after reading some Keynote slides. Students’ feedback was very positive as they thought the riddles were interesting!
To facilitate positive development and unleash potential of our students, Class 2D and 2F participated in a Service Learning Activity on 3 January, 2022. It was a precious experience for our students to interact with the elderly from Evangelical Free Church of China Social Service Limited – Mei Foo Elderly Centre. Both the elderly and our students had a great time via the activities. At the end of the activity, the elderly taught our students to make a paper lantern with some red packets.
A talk on sex education about online traps was organised by the Moral, Civic and National Education Committee on 21 December 2021 during the assembly. The objective of the talk was to encourage students to be careful of online dating traps. A guest speaker from Hong Kong Catholic Marriage Advisory Council was invited to deliver the talk for us.
To facilitate positive development and unleash potential of our students, Class 2B and 2C participated in a Service Learning Activity on 22 December, 2021. It was such a valuable opportunity for our students to work with the elderly from Evangelical Free Church of China Social Service Limited – Mei Foo Elderly Centre. Through the activities, our students have had a great time with the elderly. The elderly also taught our students how to make a paper Christmas tree.
Our school participated in the Learning & Teaching Expo 2021 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8 - 10 December. During the 3-day exhibition, we displayed our achievements in Biotechnology and STEM education. Many visitors from different schools and other education-related industries came to our booth. Many of them were particularly interested in the superworm research conducted by our biotech research team.
