Taster Program - Pet Industry Workshop

To promote diverse career experiences, Careers Guidance Committee (CGC) has arranged a pet industry workshop to enable students to learn about career paths in the pet industry and enhance their motivation for career planning. Students were able to experience the actual pet training routine and care as a pet care practitioner. In the workshop, the professionals shared their insights and the realities of working with animals to broaden participants' career experience and horizons. By spending time with the profession and pets, students are encouraged to discover education, employment, and how to plan ahead to fulfill their professional goals.

Time is spent to form a good relationship with the dog through calm interactions.
Through discussions with professionals, students learnt how to encourage good behaviour and obedience as animal handlers.
The student is learning to teach an animal to respond through positive reinforcement.
Students are learning to command “McQueen” and “Sorfuk” and are taking their first step toward becoming dog trainers.
After the workshop, students are pleasant and have found the new insights as a pet care practitioner.
