Visit by the HKAGE and members of the Curriculum Development Council Committee on Gifted Education

Our school has had the honour to welcome the senior management team of the Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Education and members of the Curriculum Development Council Committee on Gifted Education to visit us in August. A school tour was arranged for our guests about our latest development in STEAM education. Our teachers have introduced the facilities in Dr. Tony Tong Biotechnology Laboratory, Smart Home Lab and Aero Lab to our guests.

2023-2024 Study Tour on Kaiping

In order to enhance students' understanding of our country and strengthen their sense of national identity through understanding the unique architectural landmarks of our motherland as well as the historical and cultural backgrounds, the Faculty of Chinese Language & Culture and History arranged for Secondary 1 and 3 students to visit Kaiping in Guangdong from 24th to 25th of NovemberAll students enjoyed the trip!

2023/2024 Junior Achievement Program 1 (Careers Guidance Committee)

On 11/11/2023, the Careers Guidance Committee worked with the Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) closely and organized an event called ‘My Strength My Future’. The event aims to help students know more about their strengths and future career paths. Students did a personality test at first. After identifying their strengths, the organizer invited volunteers from business sectors to share their experience of learning, teach students how to write good resumes and have a mock job interview.

Cross-curricular Learning (English Department and the Science Team)

To promote cross-curricular learning, the English Department collaborated with the Science Team to organize an interesting event for students. On 21/09/2023, students were invited to the Biotech-lab make the horseshoe crab origami with Dr. Chan. While making the origami, Dr. Chan also introduced horseshoe crabs to students. This creature has existed in the world for more than 400 million years and its blood is important for medical use. Dr.

Dr. Chan is teaching the students how to make the origami in our biotech lab.

Joint-School PTA Family Activity

In order to foster the cooperation between parents and the school, a Joint-School PTA Family activity was held on 18th November, 2023 (Saturday) by the PTA of our school and P.L.K. Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College. All participants, including parents, students and teachers enjoy the moment of being together!

2023-2024 S3 Students & Parents’ Talk 1

The first S.3 Students & Parents’ Talk was held at the college on 8th November 2023. The activities organized by the Career Guidance Committee (CGC) were introduced to students and parents. Teachers from Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College were invited to introduce the information about promoting to SFC. A sharing on career information was given. Both parents and students were satisfied with the useful information in the talk.

Teachers from KTC shared the expectations on the new S4 students and the promoting criteria.

Talk: Know our elections

On 8 November 2023, the Moral, Civic & National Education Committee (MCNEC) invited the Registration and Electoral Office to give a talk about election in Hong Kong. The guest speaker shared about the basic information of the election system in Hong Kong. A mini election game was held and students were invited to be the candidates and the voters. Students learnt the importance of election through the interesting game.

The topic of the talk was “Know our elections”.

Spooky Fun at PLKTNKJSC's Halloween Activity Day

Our College was buzzing with excitement as students and staff celebrated Halloween with a thrilling Activity Day on 8 November 2023. The school's gymnasium was transformed into a spooky wonderland, with eerie decorations and jack-o'-lanterns casting a haunting glow. Students eagerly participated in a range of engaging activities, including a costume photo-taking booth, tongue twister, and a thrilling ghost shooting booth. The laughter and screams of delight filled the air as everyone enjoyed games like "Candy Guessing" challenge.

2023 MakeX Robotics Competition Hong Kong

Our robotics team has successfully defended our titles in the 2023 MakeX Robotics Competition Hong Kong held on 27 October and 4 November 2023. Our four teams completed the preliminary round with flying colours and entered the final as the highest scoring teams. In the alliance mission in the final round, the two alliances formed by our own teams captured the Champion and 1st Runners-up, taking home also the Overall Champion School in the secondary division.

Our robotics team members have captured the Overall Champion School in secondary division again!
